Writing, Mine and Bro's

I haven't written much here, although, brightly, I have worked on my novel (the current one, fantasy).

So anyway my brother has written a novel! Yep. He's letting me read it slowly, as he gets it rewritten to suit himself. I've gotten to read two chapters and I'm *hooked.*

I think he's a much better action writer than I. But I don't really write much action. (Actually, his story is fantasy/adventure, and a large part of it is character driven, not pure action.)

Anyway, I felt a little discouraged about my story after enjoying his first two chapters so much. But I'm cool with it again. He's my brother, so I'm really happy with his accomplishments, even though they're not my own.

And, I've been working on my story, and it's coming together. None of its plot is really news to me, so of course it's not going to be so surprising-wonderful as someone else's excellent work. I'm feeling a lot better about it than I was a week ago, when it seemed like total... puppy waste.

Personally, (I don't know how much other writers deal with this), but my stories seem to go through 'wonderful' and 'horrible' times. Like it's hard for me to be neutral about one of my stories. I think I just got out of a 'horrible' time.
