Sometimes, A Book

Sometimes, once in a great while, you start reading a book that is so good you honestly can't believe it. When I read a book like this, I'm always glad I didn't write it, because it would have been too hard for me to believe in. It is difficult even believing the genius of it when it's already safely written and published, by someone else.

I'm always tempted to talk to people about books like this before I finish them. But you never know. The wonderful, best-in-the-world book may take a turn to become mediocre, bores-ville, I've-seen-this-before fiction.

So I will not tell you I'm reading the best book I've read all year. I will tell you I *might* be reading one of the best books -- and I might not. And I will not tell you its name.

Sometimes, a book is worth waiting for.

Did you finish the book? Share your thoughts about this wonderful/maybe wonderful book! We're waiting ... at least I am.
