Angry About Terry
I find myself really troubled and upset by this.
Why would I believe that anyone would say they want their feeding tube removed, if such a situation arrived? That is, in essence saying, you want to be starved to death. It can take seven to ten days, and cause intense suffering. Face it, we give kinder deaths to convicted criminals. Not that I think she "wants to die," or should die.
She has a family who wants to take care of her, get her therapy (which she has been denied), and basically give her a chance to live. She has husband who wants her dead. Who should the courts rule in favor of? And why should a couple of judges have that kind of power?
Society is messed up when people go around bawling because cold-blooded killers didn't get a last minute reprieve from a humane death sentence, yet don't shed a tear for unborn infants and disabled people like Terry who are legally condemned to heinous, painful, obscene deaths.
That's my angry opinion. It may become toned down in a few weeks, but I doubt it.
For the record, I'm pro-woman but anti-abortion. Frankly, abortion only makes abortion performers rich. It doesn't help women. (There is ample evidence of that, by now!) Nor does it help babies, or people who want to adopt babies. I even read about a survey that showed children who knew their parents had aborted before felt more frightened and less safe with their parents.
And for another record, I'm all for grace spiritually and in relationships, but I'm against the removal of the death sentence. Where is the justice when multiple-time killers can live out their lives safely cared for in jail, but their victims were not even safe in public?
This will probably be my last political/social commentary blog for a while! I think I got most of it in there. :)
Anyway, this is supposed to be a stress-free hobby...
Chao~
