Totally...

Like, Totally! (said in best silly teen voice)

Sometimes, I find it's easier to submit stories to a publication if I don't respect its judgement.

After I won in the Young Salvationist creativity contest more than once, I said, "Well, they must be desperate." It's not like I completely believed it... but that's what I said. After I won the first time, it was easier to enter the second time by telling myself something like that. Etc.

It was also easier to send them regular non-fiction and short fiction.

It's kind of strange, if you think about it, that I could submit things better to a publication if I like it, but don't really respect its judgement. However, that did not work with at least one publication. (I mean, it never got me anywhere.) :)

I write these entries in a rather rough-draft form. It may make them less readable. :) Maybe sometime I will go back over and edit them for smooth reading. Considering the backlog of editing I have to do, I doubt it will happen any time soon.

In other news, I received a wonderful critique from a friend on one of my Noble Theme chapters. Success! It should be easy to complete now, and to send in on time. I don't care if I don't get more crits on the other chapter, because I feel I've already polished that one pretty well. There are a few more changes I have to implement, then all is well...

In other news, I found a way that I can write while I'm in bed. Yes!

Perhaps I should explain. I read part of a blog (http://reveriesinrepose.blogspot.com/2004/07/lazy-or-intelligent.html) by a girl who is chronically tired. I couldn't help thinking, "how brave of her to admit it!" Sometimes I feel more tired than I should, but I don't usually say anything about it.

I just don't do much. :) Oh, reading or writing or TV watching don't wear me out, but sometimes other things... do.

So it is nice to be able to write in bed.

I discovered it this morning when I woke up before I'd gotten enough sleep. I had a couple things to write, so I laid on my side and wrote with a tablet next to my pillow. I could actually see and write quite well--much better than trying to write on my knees when I'm lying down.

Don't you think that Clark on Smallville is too perfect? I know, I know -- he grows up to be Superman (Supe, as I call him), so it comes with the territory. But still... he seems unbelievable sometimes.
