Born to be... which stage?
Some people are born to be children. They are children when they are young, and seem to fit the idea of childhood perfectly. When they become teenagers, they retain some of their childlike qualities and interests, making them seem sincere and slightly unusual, but very much themselves. When they become adults, they retain a certain bright, interested, or creative outlook on life, along with their adult activities.
Some people are born to be teenagers. When they are children, they seem bored with childhood, and want to be older. When they are teenagers they seem to fit into the mold of teens perfectly, in their pursuits and interests. When they are adults, they still seem to retain something of the flair, interests, and randomness of their teenage years. When they are old, you still see that spark in their eyes at certain subjects. They will always be teens.
Some people are born to be adults. When they are children, they are preoccupied with becoming adults or doing adult things (whether that be coralling the other children into certain activities, taking care of people, animals, or things, or participating in certain activities other than play). When they are teenagers, their interests do not revolve around typically "teen" things, but actual life interests. When they are adults, it is hard to imagine them as children. They will always seem competant and mature.
This is how I view it. Not everyone fits into these catagories (I don't think even most people do), but some people certainly seem to.
